Receipts might be the last step in a repair job, but they’re one of the first things customers remember.

If cluttered or missing key details, it reflects badly on the shop. And spending time building them manually? That gets old fast. Boring too.

This is where Torque360’s auto repair receipts come in handy. It pulls real job data and turns it into clean, professional receipts. I don’t have to retype anything or waste time formatting.

Before I get into the details of how these receipts work, I think you should know a little about Torque360’s repair orders. Let me explain.

What Is a Repair Order in Torque360?

Think of the Repair Order like a digital job folder. Everything related to a customer’s visit is stored there.

You’ve got:

  •     Appointment details
  •     Estimates
  •     Job details (parts, labor, notes)
  •     Vehicle inspection reports
  •     Receipts and payment history

Everything is linked, clean, and trackable on a single dashboard.

This matters because your receipts aren’t built from scratch. Data is pulled from the Repair Order. So, every job has a full digital paper trail, and the receipt is just the final piece.

Let’s say a customer comes in for a brake job. You do your inspection, add the parts, log your labor, share the estimate, fix the brakes, and mark the job done.

The receipt is already built in the background.

Need to remove internal notes? Add a payment method? Highlight a discount?

No problem. You click, you adjust, you send.

Yes, auto repair receipts are built into the workflow.

Customize Your Auto Repair Receipt

Not every shop wants to show the same details. Some want to break down labor and parts. Others just want a clean total. With Torque360, you control how your receipt looks.

You can:

  •     Add or remove rows and columns
  •     Hide things like internal notes or technician names
  •     Highlight discounts or warranties
  •     Add your logo and shop info
  •     Choose what the customer sees

And you don’t need to mess with design tools or external templates. It’s all built in. Just click and customize.

Let’s say you want to create a simple car repair receipt for a walk-in oil change. You remove the inspection notes, skip the detailed breakdown, and just show parts, labor, and total.

Let’s take a look at Torque360’s invoice/receipt editor.

Opening The Invoice Editor

To open the invoice editor, head over to your Settings by clicking the cog icon in the bottom left corner.

This brings up the Settings. Over here, open the Invoice Editor.

Why Auto Repair Receipt Templates Help Your Shop

Here’s what happens when your receipts are clean, consistent, and automated.

1. You Build Trust Without Saying a Word

Customers don’t always understand the ins and outs of a repair. They rely on the receipt to explain the value of what they paid for.

With Torque360, every line is clear. Parts, labor, taxes, discounts – everything is broken down. When a customer sees that level of transparency, they trust you more. That trust means fewer questions, smoother payments, and better reviews. Focusing on repeat business is the way to go.

2. You Save Time on Every Job

Let’s say you do 10 jobs a day. If you spend even 5 minutes creating each receipt manually, that’s almost an hour gone.

Torque360 pulls all the job info directly from the Repair Order. The receipt builds itself as you go. You’re not retyping anything. You’re not correcting mistakes. You’re just reviewing and sending.

Multiply that across weeks or months – that’s time back in your hands.

3. You Avoid Misunderstandings and Payment Disputes

Sloppy paperwork is a surefire way to create payment disputes.

But when your receipt shows exactly what work was done, with full job details and clear totals, there’s not much to argue about.

It gives your customer clarity. And it gives you peace of mind.

4. Stay Organized with Linked Job History

In many shops, receipts and job records are scattered across different systems or folders. This makes it difficult to track what was done, how much was charged, or whether a discount was applied, especially for past jobs.

Torque360 solves this by linking each receipt directly to its Repair Order. All job information, including parts, labor, payments, and notes, is stored in one place.

This makes it easy to retrieve a complete job history with just a few clicks. Whether you’re reviewing a warranty claim, responding to a customer inquiry, or preparing for an audit, everything is organized and accessible when you need it.
